Rocca Maura, the winegrowers of Roquemaure

Our winery is located in the very heart of Roquemaure, a typical village on the right bank of the Rhone river, next to Tavel and Châteauneuf du Pape. Avignon, the capital of the Côtes du Rhône is only 18 kms away.

Our winery, which was founded at the beginning of the XXth century, brings together winegrowers of several villages: Roquemaure, Montfaucon, Pujaut, Sauveterre, Saint-Géniès-de-Comolas, Tavel, Saint-Laurent-des-Arbres, Saint-Victor-la-Coste, and especially Lirac which is the heart of our vineyard. Lirac is a “Cru”: the highest appellation level in the Cotes du Rhone region, which means the best terroir, the best grapes…and the best wines! We also produce wines with other local appellations: Côtes du Rhône, Villages Laudun and IGP Gard which reminds us of the famous Pont du Gard, a UNESCO classified monument.

After enjoying an authentic experience at our cellardoor, we recommend a hike in the vines around Lirac, and why not next to la Sainte-Baume. You can also visit Avignon and its world famous Palais des Papes, or have a walk in the lovely town of Villeneuve les Avignon to discover its Chartreuse and the Fort Saint-André.

You can also enjoy Orange and its Roman Amphitheatre. Finally, don’t miss the Pont du Gard and plan a journey in Camargue.
