The Vinegrowers
The heart of our Cooperative, in the South of France

In the world of wine, the quality and authenticity of a product depend on those who grow it. Our Vinegrowers and cooperators play a crucial role in the production of our wines, combining traditional know-how with innovation to offer a diverse range of pleasure-priced products. Discover below the commitment of our winemakers and their contribution to the success of our Cooperative, located in the Gard region on the border with the Vaucluse.

The Vinegrowers : daily partners

The Vinegrowers in our Cooperative are more than just producers; they are our daily partners. Every stage of production, from planting the vines to harvesting the grapes, is carried out with our Cooperative members. They are responsible for maintaining the vines and adopting farming methods that respect the vine's vegetative cycle. This cycle, from winter rest to pruning, from bud-break to flowering, from veraison to grape ripening, requires constant attention and a daily presence throughout the year to guarantee products of consistent quality.

The birth of the Côtes du Rhône appellation

The history of the Côtes du Rhône appellation is closely linked with Roquemaure, and its central role in the local vingrowing history. In 1737 the quality of Côtes du Rhône wines was officially recognized. At that time, the King of France ordered an innovative measure: the engraving of the letters “CDR” on the staved forming the barrels. This marked the authenticity of wines produced in the Rhône Valley, but also their quality and origin, long before the invention of modern appellations.

This royal decision was not simply an administrative measure, but a fundamental act that would influence the development of Côtes du Rhône as an appellation d'origineThis enabled Côtes du Rhône wines to stand out in the marketplace, particularly against those produced in other regions.

Our location

Our Cooperative winery is located in Roquemaure, in the Gard department, on the border with the Vaucluse. We bring together fifty vingrowers on more than 400 hectares. Our Cooperative members cultivate vines in the villages loacated around or cellar: Lirac, Tavel, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Roquemaure, Montfaucon, Saint-Laurent-des-Arbres, Saint-Géniès-de-Comolas, Sauveterre and Laudun. These diversified terroirs enable us to produce a wide range of wines, from prestigious appellations to more accessible cuvées.

The challenges of the vinegrowing profession : adaptation and resilience

The vingrowing profession faces numerous challenges. Climatic conditions impose variations that affect grape production and quality. Our vine growers must show a great resilience, adapting to changes in climate and the hazards of nature. This ability to adapt is crucial to maintaining the quality and consistency of our production.

The importance of the Cooperative: day-to-day support

Being a member of a Cooperative means benefiting from mutual support. The Cooperative plays an essential role in the marketing of our wines, ensuring sales and distribution while promoting the work of each individual winemaker. Thanks to this common platform, our Vinegrowers benefit from greater visibility and a more stable income. It's a real asset for our Vinegrowers, who can focus on their core business with the assurance that their products will find a market.

A commitment to the future : sustainability at the heart of our business

Our Vinegrowers don't just grow plant and harvest grapes; they're already thinking about tomorrow. Respecting natural cycles and adopting sustainable farming practices are at the heart of their commitment to future generations. Their investment in terroir preservation and innovation in sustainable viticulture will ensure the longevity of our Cooperative's wines for decades to come.
